Still More New Pottery Marked McCoy

The stream of new pottery marked McCoy has included new pieces in shapes never made by McCoy. This group, though, includes three versions of a well known original that collectors call the Heart Vase. The original Heart shape was made as a vase only. The new shape is offered not only as a vase, but as a pitcher (Fig. 1) and a 9½-inch handled basket. The pattern in the new vase is blurred. New vases are also smaller than the originals measuring about 5½ inches. Original vases are about 6 inches.

New Heart vases were $9; new Heart pitchers and baskets were $10 each. There are two versions of original Heart Vase. The most common has an open V in the top rim. The harder to find version is filled in at the V. The new Heart pieces are of the harder to find version with the filled in top rim.
