Lafayette-Washington Mug from 1976 Bicentennial

This reproduction china mug used a copy of an original 19th century transfer. The piece was marketed for the American Bicentennial, ca. 1976. It is marked Portugal and has a squared handle. Originals generally have an English pottery mark and rounded handles. The pieces were produced by the Mottahedeh Company which specializes in reproductions of ceramic antiques.
