Jadite Oyster Plates, Candlesticks and Tableware

Two unusual shapes in new jadite are available. One is a 9¼-inch oyster plate (Fig. 1). The plate is extremely heavy, weighing just slightly over two pounds. No old counterpart to this piece in jadite is known. Tall candlesticks are also being made in an eight-sided panel design, 7¾ inches tall. A pair of the new sticks are shown in Fig. 2.

The history of the molds for the oyster plate and candlesticks is not known. The new sauce boat and cup and saucer, Figs. 3-4, however, are made from original Imperial Candlewick molds. No vintage Imperial Candlewick was ever made in jadite.
