Early Fisher-Price toy copied
Dr. Doodle--a wooden duck on wheels--was the first toy offered by Fisher-Price (FP) Toys ca.1933. A new Dr. Doodle nearly identical to the original was reproduced in 1995. It is being marketed as the first in a series "limited edition" toys which copy highly sought after FP originals.
The new Dr. Doodle features a wood body with a lithographed paper covering and brass plated hardware. New figures have the same bobbing head action as old pieces.
Original Dr. Doodle are among the rarer FP toys and can sell from several hundred dollars and up. The new version was priced at $98.95 retail.
