Coca-cola Fantasies - Glass Jars & Cabinet Hardware
The script Coca-Cola trademark is probably one of the most recognizable corporate symbols ever created. Since its invention in 1886, the Coca-Cola trademark has appeared on thousands of items which are now all avidly collected by Coke enthusiasts.
Here are several fantasy items that haven't been widely reported before (a fantasy item is an article that has no vintage counterpart; no old version ever existed). The most interesting is a new clear pressed glass jar with a bottle on one side and a the profile of a woman drinking from a bottle on the other. It is three-quarts in size and is being made by the Anchor Hocking glass company.
The other new pieces are several styles of cabinet hardware. One of these is a bottle-shaped pull; the other a cup-type pull. A third style pull, a bottle on a flat disc, is also available but not shown. The only one of our samples permanently marked with a date is the bottle pull in Fig. 1. The new hardware could easily be attached to genuinely old sets of drawers and cabinets.
